Detailed Specifications

The CM-4012F0-MIL is a ruggedized managed gigabit Ethernet switch designed by OnTime Networks for military applications requiring reliable operation in harsh environments (high altitude, extreme shock/vibration, wide temperatures, humidity, dust, water, EMI, and dirty power). It is used onboard military vehicles where size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) constraints are critical. The switch supports up to 12 10/100/1000Base-TX ports via two D38999 connectors (options 62 or 65), with a separate 5-pin D38999 power connector. It features PTP transparent clock/slave clock with version translation (v1/v2), NTP server, and network redundancy via MSTP/RSTP/STP. The unit meets MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements and MIL-STD-461F/RTCA DO-160G EMC standards. Physical and power specifications: The switch is housed in an aluminum case with powder paint finish (SurTec 650), dimensions 5.64in (W) x 3.74in (D) x 2.00in (H), and weighs 2.05 lbs. Power input is 28VDC with overload and reverse polarity protection, typical power consumption of 12W, and 250ms hold-up time. Environmental and EMC: Operating temperature range is -40 to +71°C, storage -40 to +85°C. It withstands altitude up to 85,000 ft (MIL-STD-810G) and 50,000 ft (RTCA DO-160G), vibration up to 10g, and shock up to 40g. Conducted and radiated emission/susceptibility tests comply with MIL-STD-461F and RTCA DO-160G. Management and software: The switch supports HTTP/HTTPS, telnet/SSH, CLI, and SNMP v1/v2/v3. Security features include port enable/disable, MAC-based port security, 802.1X port-based access control, VLAN segregation, RADIUS password management, and SNMPv3 encrypted authentication. Standards compliance: IEEE 802.3x (flow control), 802.3ad (LACP), 802.1D (STP), 802.1p (CoS), 802.1Q (VLAN), 802.1w (RSTP), 802.1s (MSTP), 802.1X (authentication), 802.1AB (LLDP), and IEEE 1588 (PTPv1/v2). MAC table of 8192, 8 priority queues, store-and-forward with wire speed on all ports. Includes built-in test (BIT) at boot and continuously, and data zeroization via HTTP/CLI.
